We have a main halyard sheave at the top of the mast that needs replacing.
Anyone ever done this? Not sure where to look for parts and if it can be
done without stepping the mast. Any advice is appreciated. I have a picture
if it's allowed.

I can get up there no problem. We have a bosun's chair. That's how I know
it needs changing.
It still is functional but the wire rope from the Topping Lift had been
rubbing on the pulley and had filed it down to a sharp edge.

Are you going to be there this weekend? Our boat is in Superior and we hope
to make it.

Josh,
I can't find info on the Sampson but may be interested. Can you let me
know more about it and how much you might want?

My partner are planning a trip from where we are at in Superior Wisconsin
through the Great Lakes and to the Atlantic and then south and beyond.
What's the furthest anyone has traveled in their C&C? Any ocean crossings?

Ours doesn't work at all it shows the wrong compass heading and gradually
steers further and further off course until we're doing doughnuts. I've
been wondering what to do with it.
