Bob,
Is the boat in the water? If so, pull the transducer and clean it /clear it
thoroughly.
I didn’t have B&G, but that solution worked well on my old Raymarine system.
All the best,

I probably should have been more clear. Consider using green grease.

Have you posed this to the B&G group on Facebook?

Three dashes mean, "no-signal". Check all your wire connections and make sure
the power and ground wires are clean and tight too. Something is probably
loose.

Mine shorted out last year, was a random occurrence. Had to replace all is
well again.

As detailed as I try to be, I know some pertinent information will be left off.
Such as the anemometer information still appears on my displays so I ruled out
the network backbone. I plugged the transducer cable into the opposite end of
the network and still just dashes. It's tri-data so dept
Mine is different. TackTick. It works through a magic box that talks to the
other devices. That box requires 12vdc, and the displays are all wireless.
Thought you might have a device/translator in the system that is required to
read the signal.

Are there any VHF antennas with N connectors out there?

It could be the transducer, or it could be the display. If you know someone
with B&G instruments, remove your display and connect it to the other
person's instruments. If it still doesn't work, it's the display. if it
does, it's the transducer. Usually when the transducer paddle wheel isn't
clean,
The transducer is made by Airmar in New Hampshire. Airmar is owned by
Gemeco. You might contact their tech support. I've had the temp fail on
that model, but not all 3. the warranty is 2 years from manufacture, not
install. Sorry!

FYI:
Loss per 100 feet at 150 MHz and power output for 25 watts input
RG58 5.4 dB 7.2 watts
RG8X 4.3 dB 9.2 watts
RG82.4 dB 14.4 watts
LMR400 1.5 dB 18.1 watts

Remember to calculate in the rated gain on the antenna. A simple 3dB
gain gives an effective doubling of radiated energy. With sufficient
gain, you can overcome much of the feedline loss.

You have to watch dBi vs. dB rated antennas. I don't consider the quarter-wave
or vertical dipole gain antennas really, but they both show 2 or 3 dB gain over
an isotropic radiator. The straight dB (sometimes dBd) rating assumes a dipole
or 1/4 wave and rates the gain over that.

I like the zerk fitting idea bett
Issue solved. Turns out when I updated the chart plotter, it disabled that
instrument. I turned them back on and all is good.
Something to keep in mind when doing updates.
