Don't the ends need to have mushrooms cut off and resweaged? if so I would let a good rigger experienced with rod rigging do it, and do a dye test at the same time. They usually use longer fittings to make up for the loss in lenght and it is supposed to be done periodically, though I have no idea h

For the older style NAVTEC rigging the “balls” at the top of the should move freely allowing access to inspect the heads. Most times a simple visual with a magnifying glass will show any defects such as cracking. If seen they should be polished and then do a dye penetrant test. More proble
