I think you are over-thinking this, Couldn’t you just use a 4X 4 upright and screw a bracket to it or something? I used to use a 6X6, with a crutch screwed to it to support 80% of my laid down mast, and used duct tape around the mast partners to keep most of the water out. That was pretty heavy
