The link didn’t work for me yesterday, but I did read it just now. I think we agree more or less – I said the only way I would think about breaking the AC and DC ground connection is with a whole boat ELCI, which seems like what you suggest as well. Galvanic isolators went through three generatio

I was taking a shower in my marina's shore head a couple weeks ago. I touched the trim ring around the shower valve and felt a slight shock. After I finished, I got my multimeter and measured 7.5 VAC from the trim ring to the shower drain fitting. The next day the harbormaster and I flipped break

Rod, Touch order. I've managed to find the occasional display but they are rare. Spare knotlog transducers can be found fairly easily. I've pretty much decided that on my next instrument failure I'll replace the entire Nexus system. Barring that, a couple of stop gap measures are: 1. install

Hi all - I’m in the last stages of refurbishing the fiberglass piece that covers the sliding companionway hatch on my C&C34. It had such extensive crazing on it that I ended up sanding the whole thing down, including all the non-skid. I’ve got new Interlux Perfection (Hatteras off-white) paint on

Andrew,    I have had Kiwi Grip tinted at Home Depot.  Get a paint chip from then that matches color you want and they will do it...i did cockpit sole and got a good match of color and texture.  Dennis' comments are all good too. Bill Walker CnC 36 Evening Star On Tuesday, June 4, 2019 Andrew

I’m interested. Don’t need the wind – mine is working. Would not mind the extra propeller. My speed sensor is also a bit wonky, but would like to try another, need displays, have computer, don’t need depth. Sounds like we may have a fit. What are you asking? How many displays? Gary Nylan

Responding to Dennis’s comment, Dick Booth (below) is a Nexus guru. He is a nice guy, but also a bit of an opportunist. He bought a bunch of stuff when Nexus was taken over by Garmin and is happy to sell what he has. I bought a spare NX2 Multi Control for about $600 (significantly overpriced)
