Hi- I am installing a new Raymarine e95 chart plotter and am confused by the
instructions with respect to grounding. The cable includes both a Negative
(black) wire and a black Ground (drain) wire. Here is what the install manual
says:
Grounding — Dedicated drain wire

Dave — tie the shield to the negative power wire at the power supply lead to
the plotter. I’m sure there’s no RF grounding system on most of our boats; you
start seeing it on larger vessels or those with SSB installations.

We have a 3 year old son and one of his favourite things is the floating pool
toys we have on board. When we anchor, we'll pull out the SS Happy Crab, an
inflatable 4' toy dinghy that we tie to the stern of the boat for him to float
in, while we are nearby swimming in the water. It's also useful
I'm planning on checking the torque on my keel bolts this week-end. My boat
is on the hard. I see the torque chart values on the C&C website, but it
doesn't indicate whether or not to lubricate the bolts and what to use if
you do lubricate. It's my understanding from a little research that the

Dave,
Very good question. I’m no expert but here is my understanding and my solution.
Since you do not have an RF ground, you can get by with grounding the shield
wire to the battery ground. In principle, you should not use the same negative
wire as used for supplying power. The reason is t
Spent some real quality boat time last week...using 1000 grit wet sandpaper
to de-oxidize my topsides (where there is no non-skid). The process was
sand...buff with buffer/oxidation remover...seal with teflon polish...and
seal/shine with wax. (Then a couple beers for the laborer...me!)

Since you mention non-skid, I think you may be conflating "topsides",
with the deck. Topsides are the area from the waterline up to the
rubrail. :-)

For the hull topsides (not nonskid!), I have had excellent results with
PoliGlow. That said, this was with our last boat in Chicago, and we are now in
Florida with a different boat. So, I too will be interested in this exchange!

Hard carnuba waxes typically get the highest ratings. PS did this review
and Collonite Fleet Wax Paste (IIRC #855?) was rated such that I chose it
for my hull. On the deck their recommendation was WoodyWax. You brush it
on with a deck brush and it doesn't negatively impact the non-skid.

I posted 2 items on the list and one was sold within 24 hours. The other was a
bit more specialized (a youth dry suit) and I wound up having slightly better
response (and a subsequent sale) on Craigslist. I have a few items I want to
move and this is a good reminder to post them! Ryan even h

I’ve seen them on other manufacturer’s boats in the chart table area.

Lower all torque values by 10% if using any lubricant. Most torque
values are for "clean and dry threads".

made for motorcycle windshields and can be found on auto parts stores..

There is a boat show in Annapolis on the 28th to the 30th we were thinking of
making it a road trip.
Can anybody tell me if it is a worthwhile event to go to? Spring, boat show,
fresh crabs, cold beer
sounds like its worth the trip from Rhode Island to me. Has anybody from the
area attended in
I usually go in October. Never been to the spring show. A trip to
Annapolis is always fun. Very cool town. DC is only 30 or 45 minutes away
too so if the show doesn't turn out to be what you want then you can still
make something of your time. If you are going "to see all the boats" then
