Mine was doing the same thing and if you do a google search you will find that
many others have the same issue.
Tightening the screw that holds the lever in place may help for a while but the
problem eventually will resurface. I rectified the problem by filing down the
“bump” so that it locks in
My GMI10 started to randomly shut off. I can power it back on using the power
button. Not sure what to check. Power supply looks good. Other instruments are
functioning OK. Any suggestions on what to check?

My Atomic-4 slips out of gear in forward if I open the throttle too much,
especially under heavy load. It's not really a problem, because I don't need
that much throttle. But I'm just wondering if this a common and fixable issue,
or a safety feature, or what.

My boat was changed to the Harken traveler a long time ago. I refreshed the
bearings last year. The car glides from side to side now.

The best source of info and parts I have found for the atomic 4s is Moyer
Marine. They have a Atomic 4 Community which they call Home of the Afourians.
If you are not familiar with them check them out at moyermarine.com. You can
ask the Afourians or call Don Moyer direct. They have saved my day
You may find that the engine is moving independent of the shift cable.
With older/softer engine mounts the thrust may be moving the engine
closer/further from the cable. Most cables are attached to the engine so
this doesn't happen but if the cable of mount is broken or failing it may
be causing t
You also may need to adjust the clutch pressure. The Moyer Marine Rebuild
Manual explains how that is done in good detail. I will be doing the same
as soon as I receive the new gasket from Moyer Marine for the access cover
to the clutch and reversing gear assembly.

I would suggest checking the voltage when other events occur (engine starting,
water pressure or bilge pumps operating). Electronics don't like it if
momentary violate drops below around 10.5 Volts.

Lotta sheet metal screws right there. I would imagine butyl tape when

This just started happening this weekend. When first started and idling the
exhaust is noisy - like an open exhaust, maybe no water. Run it for a bit at
higher rpm, and suddenly it quiets down and sounds normal. Next cold start,
same thing. Did a quick check of the raw water strainer underwa
I thought about this Tim but I have a GMI 10 on the same backbone as a GNX 20
display. The GMI works flawlessly. The GNX 20 freezes. So it does not seem to
be a voltage issue.
I have update software for the GNX 20 and still freezes.
Garmin has not been much help so far.

Sounds like a partially plugged mixing elbow, or maybe something blocking
thr raw water someplace. Could also be a bad impeller.

Definitely low or no water flow. Drilling out the water injection elbow
