Thanks gentlemen - an annoying problem indeed.. The unit is basically new, has seen very little use. Solved temporarily with a tiny bungee cord. Will tackle it tomorrow.

Tightening the screw that holds the lever in place may help for a while but the problem eventually will resurface. I rectified the problem by filing down the ?bump? so that it locks into the hollow in the handle. Now it stays put. IMHO, this is a design flaw that raymarine will not admit to.
