My box arrives today. Not sure when I'll get it hooked up or how to use it.
The perfect project!

I assume that you have a Yanmar transmission. The shift lever mechanism is
quite complicated and Yanmar have specific requirements about the minimum
length of throw from neutral to ensure full engagement of F&R. I just spent an
hour or so with my head upside down adjusting the transmission on my

As to the question of adjustment - for sure verify the basics are within spec

Hi Folks,
I just purchased a C&C 29 Mark II, Hawk, and I'm looking for advise on
upgrading the bilge pump situation. There is no auto pump in the boat which
scares the hell out of me, so that's the first improvement in order. I'm
following Don Casey's advise on putting in a small automatic bilge p

I have OpenPlotter running on a Raspberry Pi B+. It includes SignalK.

And you don't want diminished capacity if you have an emergency and need to run

I don't recall exactly what protocols the IKommunicate uses IN/OUT but nmea
over ip/wifi is probably what would work best, soonest. The OpenPlotter
also acts as a NMEA multiplexer. All the hardware is ~$50.

I just checked the specs. IKommunicate appears to do NMEA multiplexing and
NMEA over IP. It has a cat5 jack so I don't know if it does any of this
over WiFi. It should work well and probably be a little lower power draw
than the OpenPlotter. The OpenPlotter doesn't have a battery backup and

Consider chrome when installing or replacing top side thru hull fittings.
When I had Touche' painted, I replaced all the white plastic thru hull
fittings with chrome. See this picture for one of them.

Hey guys,
Anyone here buy lifeline netting recently? I'm looking at 24" netting from
Seamar Sports Netting - www.seamarnets.com. It's significantly cheaper
than West Marine and the other suppliers I've found.
Anyone have experience with this stuff?
Thanks,
Ryan

Nice. Yeah this stuff at Seamar is $57 for 95'. $20 shipping to NY. My
primary goal is dog containment. Porkchop has a habit of "falling" off the
dock when she's hot. She's never had the guts to "fall" off the boat, but
I'm looking to make sure that doesn't happen.

Why do you want it? Kid retention or spinnaker retention?
If for spinnaker retention, just weave some leech cord between lifelines
and toe rail. Cheap.

Cool. Thanks Jim. I was thinking of using zip ties, but the twine idea is

Dennis,
Do you mean Chrome as in Stainless polished, or do you mean Chrome as in
‘Monkey metal’ plated ?
If the latter, then I would prefer the plastic.
Touché does look great though…

Dennis,
Chrome does look nice. You’ve got lots of bling going on there.
Unfortunately, chrome vents for the holding tank don’t look good for long.
They start to corrode quickly. If anything, these should be plastic (Marelon).

I have 2 cans.
