Our family had a 1981 C&C 36. My father was 6'3" and they bought that boat so
that he could stand upright. If I remember correctly he had full standing
headroom everywhere in the main cabin

Too funny!
Well at least you know that your brain still works.
My biggest worry when I set an alarm is that it won't wake me up.

Lee,
I'm a little over 6'4". The 1980 C&C 36 I owned in the past had enough head
room I could stand upright, bare footed, at the galley sink. As I moved
forward the headroom dropped by about an 1" near the mast.
IIRC the bunks were also a bit short for me, maybe 6'3" or a little more.

I'm just glad we aren't discussing ground tackle again!

Lee,
Toronto Yacht Sales lists a 1979 model as having 6'3" of headroom, tapering
well forward of the mast.

Richard,
I have a 3HM35F on my 1991 37+. A while ago, I considered adding senders
for oil pressure & water temperature. Currently I have the standard oil
pressure and water temperature switches for the red lights. Somewhere along
the line, I found that Yanmar senders may use Japanese Industr

I sailed it a few weeks ago when it was in Mamaroneck NY. It was a fun boat

One of my crew is obsessed with the boat and may actually buy one.

I took a look at a Landfall 38 last week, and yeah it's pretty bad (engine
access). But does it actually prevent you from doing any critical tasks or
is it more of a nuisance?
Also anyone know the differences between the Yanmar 3QM30F, 3HM30F, and
3GM, either in terms of size (access) or power / l
The difference between the GM and HM are negligible. Most/many parts are
interchangeable. The HM only came in 3 cylinders and had a slightly higher
power rating. The F designation means that it has a glycol (fresh water)
coolant system and heat exchanger. The GM came in 1, 2 and 3 cylinder

Mine had a Perkins 4-108 in it, which was definitely the wrong engine
for the boat, but I knew I was going to repower so didn't worry about
it. Most came with Yanmars, and others can tell you more about that. I
