Reminds me when I anchored one summer evening behind Charles Island, Connecticut side of Long Island Sound and in the morning I was awakened by men's voices talking and laughing like they were right next to my boat. I thought we dragged anchor! I lept on deck and checked my bearings to find we were on station. I rechecked the charts and saw an ismuth that ran from the mainland to the island at about 2 to 3 feet depth.
Dawn revealed there were about a dozen fishermen standing knee to waist deep on the sandbar, fishing about 50 feet from my boat. Weird.
