In the past an email sent to this list contained the senders email
address in the FROM line. This was nice for replying tot the sender off
list. Was this removed intentionally?
To the other members of this list. Do we like having our email address
shown when we send the email?

When an email is sent by a subscriber to the list, the email From Line
contains the sender's name and "via CnC List". This way you know who is
sending the email and it is coming from the List.
If you reply to the message, the to line will include the original sender's
name p
Thank You Stu
Did not realize both sender and list were included in reply. That is a
great feature

Hi Stu,
Actually every email I get simply shows "C&C List" in the from field.
I do however get both email addresses to populate when I hit reply.
Just an FYI

Interesting. Note below, mine shows "Rick Knowles via CnC-List" and then the
list address. However, when I reply, note that the list and Rich's address
populate the "to" field.
Must be a matter of our equipment or providers.

Hi Mike,
The easiest thing would be to find out the nature of the signal is out of
the computers / transducers. If it's NMEA 0183 compatible then you just
get a NMEA 0183 to NMEA 2000 converter (A Google search will easily get
that) If not find out if there is a way to get the signal converted
I'm a little surprised no one has mentioned Captain Tolley's creeping crack

just go to the nearest West Marine and get it for about 10 bucks.
Of course the best thing to do is to remove the offending deck fitting and

Jean-Francois — just to expand on this, pretty much any older transducer (and
many of the new ones) do NOT directly output NMEA0183 or NMEA2000 data; most of
the depth, speed and wind transducers need to be connected to a display head

So then back to the original question. Could these B&G H1000 era
transducers be effectively connected to newer Raymarine displays? All
of the data seems good on the B&G. The wiring and the boxes in behind
the bulkheads look almost new. The transducers are obviously working.

Search "B&G H1000 universal interface box". It will convert the H1000 bus to

Yes,
I used it also this year to temporarily fix a leak on a chainplate, also on my
hatch , it was leaking from a crack around a screw that fix the acrylic. No
leaks so far ( and it poured hard a few times ).
A good fix for 1-2 seasons..

Thanks to all for the feedback. Using vinegar as a first rinse makes a
lot of sense. I hadn't heard of that before. Easy-Off is an alkaline,
so vinegar would neutralize any residual stuff.

Calypso is in the middle of a deck restoration project. We, the co-owners have
pulled most deck gear and hatches to inspect and repair holes in the deck. In
the boat's 43 years of hard use including many years of competitive racing many
extra holes in the deck where added. We have drilled and
I use it around the screws that hold the original 1973 plexi hatches into the
frames and it works perfect for that. Do remember it is like water and cannot
plug a big leak.

Remember the Steve Martin movie, "The Jerk", where he gets the new phone

your names aren't in the phone book. :)

I like the boat on land to tighten the keel bolts/nuts. You are using the
force, gravity to help compress boat and keel together that way. In the water,
the keel weight is hanging on the bolts and gravity is working against you. The
builder put the keel on, on land.

FWIW, Our boat has one keel bolt washer w a big lug welded to it. It is under
the nut on the foremost bolt under the mast step and a stranded wire connects
the mast to this washer, so the keel is the ground for the mast.

Good to know. I found Tilex sprayed on a sponge works very well to remove black
spots. Lightly spray area afterwards w Tilex and let dry to protect for long

Okay here's the question - Will a solar panel work under a clear, flexible plastic window. The sort sewn into a Sunbrella dodger.Customer wants a companionway cover but his solar panel is mounted on top of the top slider. Thought I could sew in a window if it would work. sam :-)C&C 26 Liquorice
Suggest taking a piece of the material you plan on using for the window and
putting it over the panel to see the effect. There are many different kinds of
plastic and their effect on light transmission can vary. A practical test is
the best way to go methinks.
