Just to follow up - I brought home one of the old panels. I was able to
peel off the vinyl with some plywood attached. I tried using acetone to
remove the remaining wood with some success. I then soaked the vinyl in
hot water in the kitchen sink (don't try this if your spouse/SO is home).
