down so I can motor over to the gin pole and lift the mast to work on the step.

been using 2 part
interlux outdrive paint that gives it up around the middle of august. plenty of

Thanks,
I'm going to try the zinc paint this year, but will be doing so without a
barrier, so as to get added galvanic protection - I'll let you know how we
get on. I've had barnacle attachments (not too many, but annoying) the
last couple of seasons.

Pete, why the polyurethane? Are you trying to keep the bronze / zinc
separated?

Here's what I've been doing on my 2-bladed MaxProp.
It keeps barnacles away for about 5 months.
After cleaning the prop with a wire wheel, I use spray polyurethane, applying 4
to 6 thin coats and let dry thoroughly.
Just prior to launch, apply Petitt's gray, spray paint [barnacle barrier] ove

You don't want barnacles or slime affecting your propeller's efficiency, but
it's notoriously difficult to make antifouling paint stick to your prop.

Take your prop to a plating shop and them plate it with copper. End of problem.

You don't want barnacles or slime affecting your propeller's efficiency,
but it's notoriously difficult to make antifouling paint stick to your
prop. Here's how: rough up the metal with some 80 grit sandpaper, then
apply a couple of coats of zinc chromate primer.
