I had Seaboard winches on my previous boat. Didn't use pawns. Had two rings
with saw teeth things that interlocked to keep it from spinning backwards.
One day the rings didn't seat well, the winch spun backwards and launched a
non-locking winch handle about 40 feet off the side of the boat. Luck
