Primary Barlow winches on my C&C 27 Mk 1 (Hull # 57) were painfully inadequate and were quickly moved to secondary status. At the finish of a race, the spinnaker guy was tripped. As the spinnaker sheet unloaded, my Barrient lock in, with the Barlow winch drum securely locked to it, launched in slow motion overt the side.
