Do not apply heat to Stainless. Two things, if hot enough it will anneal it and make it dead soft with little of its former strength, and second, it will likely rust after you do. Stainless can be bent several times before it will break. We cold form all SS, it is simply the way it is done. One t

You might want to have a machine shop do the bending--I doubt the usual home workshop tools will do the job. Perhaps if you apply heat you might get it done but bending a 3/8" piece of SS is not for the faint of heart! I always take such SS jobs to a shop--they can do it easily and usually f
