Steve my 1972 C&C 30 MK I (hull #7) has a deep sump under the mast step. Yours probably does too, and that's probably where the pump is. Hate to break it to you but the only way to access it is to pull the mast up (or out) and remove the mast step. For detail and pictures etc. have a look at the
