I make canvas stuff and repair sails locally. I make genoa socks and put UV stripes on leech and foot. I use a sock as it seems silly to put UV stripes on a high tech sail. UV stripes are on the sail so you don’t have to think about them. Just furl and forget. They are quite heavy (Sunbrella)

Just been reading my original C&C manual from 1977. (It’s in amazing good condition for 36 years old!) Says in there to put “at least 60% of the weight of the yacht on the keel”. …and not to “put weight on the keel further aft than the last keel bolt. Extreme aft tip of the keel is very thin”.
