Just one of those days when the wind was perfect; boat seemed to get in the
groove and stay there; crew were working as a team and the sun was out.
We got into Port Angelese and were boarded by the American Coast Guard - only
time ever.
They kept us in the cockpit while 2 of them searched the

We’re flying out early Monday morning to the west coast - first sailing trip of

Friend of ours lives on his Catalina 38 in Sidney, Vancouver Island.
We’re going down to the San Juans and Washington State.

I make canvas stuff and repair sails locally.
I make genoa socks and put UV stripes on leech and foot.
I use a sock as it seems silly to put UV stripes on a high tech sail.
UV stripes are on the sail so you don’t have to think about them. Just furl and
forget.
They are quite heavy (Sunbrella)
You don’t install the tracks.
Use the existing tracks and use the new cars on the old tracks.

Just been reading my original C&C manual from 1977. (It’s in amazing good
condition for 36 years old!)
Says in there to put “at least 60% of the weight of the yacht on the keel”.
…and not to “put weight on the keel further aft than the last keel bolt.
Extreme aft tip of the keel is very thin”.
One of the powerboaters on our lake has a pair of Nikon (I think) stabilized

Joanne,
Just looked in my C&C manual which has original specs for a whole bunch of
different C&C’s.
My data sheet is dated May 1977:
C&C 30:

Westerbeke Deisel - 2:1 transmission - 14” x 10” x 1” RH (2 blade fixed)
