chemical bond. Etching or course sand will give you good bonding results. At

Key is only to keep wheel from slipping when you turn it. The key can come out
or stay. I think mine came off with the wheel and i had a heck of a time
getting it to stay put when putting wheel back on. But thats my understanding

Some of the impeller the pin doesn't go through the rubber fins and it slips on
the hub. You may wish to swap as a test.
This has baffled many people because the impeller looks perfectly fine.

After building a fiberglass instrument pod for over my companionway I would
consider 5k cheap. Probably took me 20 hours to get the shape right for the
mould and then about 30 or 40 hours for layup, sanding fairing and painting.
Gelcoat would have been more. I spent about $200 on glass and resin
