I’m assuming you race in an area with enough wind to power the boat with a
110%. Here on Lake Ontario, regular summer night beer can racing is often a
drifter, and a 110 is the kiss of death. Suit the sails to the prevalent
conditions. If a 110% is your go-to sail, you have to be in a windy area
I run a B&G V-60 with AIS receiver and an H60 wireless radio for the cockpit.
Love it, and so nice not having to run a cable to the binnacle!

purchase you'd be looking at nearly 70' of main sheet? I decided if i was going
to do more solo sailing I would probably just invest in a good autopilot.

I just found this image of a 34+ that was sold in Montreal, so somebody has one

Hmm. That’s a thought. I hadn’t considered mounting it between the seating. It
shortens the traveler somewhat, but still might be better than where it
currently is. A couple of customer brackets, and backing plates. Does that
setup have some sort of attachment to the pedestal guard? It looks lik
Looking for guidance. Has anyone moved the traveler on a 34+ aft to the
binnacle area? The boom is almost 15’ long, and the traveler is only 5’ from
the mast, giving horrible purchase upwind. Looking to move it closer to end
boom sheeting, but worried about structural integrity to support the tr
Many boat yards that paint with Awlgrip will have a few remnant cans kicking
around, and can usually custom blend a small bottle for you to come fairly
close, at least enough that you have to go looking for the repair.

Even Google says over 7,000 since 1969.

Here at our club on Lake Ontario we (thankfully) have floating docks. Access to
those floating docks is now the concern. Plus one of our retaining walls has
been washed out. As part of a rebuild project we are also raising the height of
our fixed walkways by 10” to help keep the land access to t
You are correct on Nomad. I purchased it from Jeff Steiner earlier this year.

Since I own a 1989 C&C 34R, I maintain a list of other 34/36 boats and owners.
These are the boats built between 1989 and 1996. It looks like some boats have

I own a 34+ (although won't be applying for a PHRF cert until this coming
season), however, I have access to the PHRF-LO handicappers worksheet.
Lake Ontario only lists 3 versions of the 34+:
C&C 34/36+ DK (XL)
C&C 34/36+ WK
C&C 34/36R
That would imply the DK was only available on the XL, however
I have a 1990 34+, but have never seen the stepped transom.

The difference between + and XL versions was in the optional (read more
expensive) hull layup on the XL (which was the same layup used on the R), which
used a bit more Kevlar Hybrid Fabric and used Aircraft Grade Pre-Imp
