I think full-length contact strips on the hatch sliders would work well
with a brush on the hatch. + on one side and - on the other. No moving
cables, piece of cake. Don`t lean on the sliders when you`re wet and it`s
all good.
Might want a fast-blow fuse in the circuit just so you don`t lose too ma
The only suggestion might be to find a way to stabilise the 12 V supply. When
the engine is running or the shore power is connected your voltage is higher
(over 13.5 V). Some devices might not respond well to that.

That's a good price, although there are many other 100w rigid panels around
that price range too - 3 different brands in the $100-115 range on Amazon.
The question is how well they will hold up and perform. The reviews seem
good. I wouldn't worry about optimizing the price of the panels though -

I did the same thing with a Trendnet router. No issues with it.

Hi Everyone,
My wife and I purchased a C&C 33 MKII at the end of last sailing season and
we have loved every moment aboard her. We are new to this list, but are
trying to come up with a solution so we can reduce the amount of AC powered
devices on the boat.

I am considering putting a thin flexible solar panel on the companionway
sliding hatch. I have found ones that would fit, but I am unsure of how I
would connect it. The power cable would have to be able to move 3-4’ as the
hatch slides open and closed and not catch on the hatch itself. If any
I did mine in 2012 and it still looks new. I still have the leftover and just
checked. I ordered 3/4 inch. It fit perfectly because it curves in to the
groove. I looked and the place is still in business. Vinalstriping.com. $34

I removed the old tape with a 3M Stripe Off wheel and used 3M 5/8 gold
tape. I did not add the star. Looks good.

I have a C&C 99 and just measured mine. 1/2” will work best if I use 5/8” the
edges will protrude out of the mounded cove and it will be much more difficult
to line up. Since the edges may be out of cove the edges may wear out quickly.

I am considering redoing the cove stripe on my boat as it is pretty faded. I
found a few old emails about this topic and both used vinyl tape. One person
used 1/2” tape and one 5/8” and I can see the logic for both. Anyone done this
more recently or have comments on longevity? How did you h

I installed the Add A Battery Kit myself (with plenty of list and Blue Sea
help) last spring and the off position turns off the house battery. I presume
it turns off the starting battery as well, but I have never tried to start the
engine in the off position. Dave

As a follow-up, I just looked on the Blue Sea system website, and the switch
configurations have changed (at least in appearance). The closest thing I saw
to what I had was an 8080 switch. Not sure how helpful my experience is for
your situation.

I found that the reason my nicro vent failed was the rechargeable battery died.
Replacing the battery fixed the problem, but even removing the battery
resulted in the vent fan running when sunlight hit it. The dead battery sucked
up all the solar energy.

If you a distinct diesel odor in your cabin, chances are you have a fuel

John,
If you have strong diesel smells in your cabin, especially when you open up the
boat after a few days and go below, you probably have a leak(s) somewhere in
your fuel system. Check everything from the fill hose, around the engine to
the return hose. When I first bought my boat there
