You are correct in the window muse. The design
does add to overall deck stiffness which
contributes to structure stiffness. This is not
to be confused with increased righting moment by anyone, I hope.

I'm not an engineer but I do re-engineer many systems they dream up.
I think the fixed windows do add strength and without them the structure has to
be weaker.
They help support the coachroof which does create an arch between the flatter
deck sections.

I had them make rails for a J30. One of the rails was broken in half. I
sent them the rails. They made the new ones to match.
I also measured the crown of the cabin top. Unless your cabin top is
absolutely flat, you'll need to give them an idea of the crown. It's

Tips:
Remove the old handrails.
Get templating material from your local canvas shop. The material
resembles a clear(ish) plastic tarp.
Template both the old holes from both sides and send with both of the old

Hi Josh. Those hand rails look great!
We're looking at doing something similar on our 26.
Any pointers to working with White Water?
Thanks much.

Thanks to the other listers, this project was also my first real venture
into butyl tape. Much better than 4200 or 5200. Got it from pbase and
applied per their directions.

Hey folks,
I just got new hand rails installed on Sea Hawk. They replace the original
25 year old teak ones. Thanks for the suggestion to use
whitewatermarine.com. the cost was very reasonable and Mike was helpful.
If anyone is looking to do this project themselves I have some pointers.
Just a
+1 on Atlantic. They rebuilt my rig years ago.

Help! Last winter/spring (yes the beginning of 2014), a boat fell into mine
damaging at least the Harken furling system . Back then I got some good
advice on what to look for including having the Navtec rigging inspected.

The laws of physics make sonar quite good in deep water with steep-to

deep could likely be "seen" a quarter mile away. A shallow sloping sand or

Thanks for the response. I made some quick measurements again and read in

No screws. Just some black and somewhat flexible adhesive. The rain channel? Yeah, impressive attention to detail. That guy Wes is awesome and he charges a small fraction of what I've heard most yards charge.. Gotta love those Georgia boys :-) I'll take some pictures this weekend / contact him-
