I just bought my fist boat, it's a 1975 C&C 25 mk1. Some wet core. Turned out
to be not as bad as I thought it was going to be. I have done a few repairs on
sailboats before so I was ready to tackle the challenge. Hopefully everything
turns out ok. Lots of prior neglect from the previous owner.
The listings at that site are frequently sky high compared to comparable
listings in place like
Northern Michigan, Duluth Minnesota etc etc

No wind at all forecast off the coast of Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, and
Costa Rica for the next few days and I have a beautiful Swan 59 to deliver
south. Damn! Oh well, I'm sure I'll have a nice breeze from Panama to Florida...

I used that, and it has held up well for 13 years. I have beat the heck
out of this boat.

Seriously overpriced. In this market, I would expect to pay less than half
asking for that boat.

While I think this appears to be a nicely equipped and well maintained
boat, I think the owner is overly optimistic with his asking price. We
bought our boat in 2006 for half that price and it was a well
maintained, fresh water, one owner boat.
Sure would like to hear any and all comments on
Switch to a high quality ablative bottom paint. Then you can take the residual
paint off when you haul out every 3 years or so and have the bottom pressure
washed.

Reemphasizing what Dennis said. Torqueing the keel bolts is the key!
Belle had a smile when I bought her in '94. It didn't really get fixed until
the haulout in 2002. I did part of what Bill Bina did, in that I used my trusty
Dremel to open up the smile to a v shaped groove about 3/8" wide. Then
The 25 is a very dry boat, perhaps because of the deck stepped mast. My 25
has never had an automatic bilge pump - only the Whale Gusher that came OEM.
Originally the ice box drained into the bilge, but I have routed the ice box

They do not work the same as Sta-lok and Norseman.
