I am not sure about the 35 Mk III, but I have installed a below deck autopilot on my 35 Mk II, and can't stress enough how important it is to have a very beefy attachment point for the fixed end of the hydraulic ram. I believe the forces are in the neighborhood of 1000 pounds.Mine is attached

But his issue isn't with exhaust getting through the elbow, the issue is with water getting into it - so my money is on the little right angle elbow into the mixing elbow. I've had the gasket for a year for removing the mixing elbow to check it, but it never makes it to the top of the list. Gr

It's almost certainly the mixer elbow. I replaced it on my 2GM20F a couple of months ago. Take the manifold and the elbow off as one. (You won't be able to separate them anyway.) There are four bolts where the manifold connects to the engine. A new manifold, elbow, connector and gasket cost m
