Good decision! Asking about props is almost like asking about
anchors. Lots of opinions. I'm no expert. The option offered on my
boat was a 2 blade Martec. After 29 years it is going strong. I'm sure
others swear by flexofold. Not sure if there is any objective testing
done to compare props.
Bob,
I chose soda blasting this spring and never regretted it. The surface that
was left was almost spotless and ready to paint (after a couple of wipe

with sandpaper and scrapers.

I've been off the list for awhile as I was considering going to the
dark (non-C&C - but still sail) side. At any rate Ox and I have
renewed our vows and I am going to open the ol' checkbook and lavish
some attention on my 36 year-old beauty . I've already ordered a new

Having comfortable PFDs will go a long way towards making people wear them.
If they are difficult to put on and uncomfortable to wear, they will get

hour or more, fortunately, as I needed to enter the narrows, it calmed down.

It's a boat. It's the water. You pays your money and you takes your
chances.
If you don't wear a PFD that's your personal choice,

Sorry to hear of yet another boating fatality.
We had a couple more here on Lake Erie and Lake Huron this weekend.

They are worn on my boat.

Glad all is OK.
Isaac's remnants hit about 30 seconds after I dropped the mooring line in
Annapolis to head home. We got 30+ knots and it pissed down rain. Apparently we
have a fatality too :( There was a MOB and from the radio chatter no one had

Finding good aftermarket parts for the ol' corpus is difficult, plus nobody
gives a decent warranty any more.
