For sound don't forget to check the Linux mixer for sound volume.
For printing it would not surprise me that network printing is a lot slower
than direct usb, especially on lower end hardware.

I checked all of the mixer volumes on both the Lin & Win sides & have
them amped up as high as they will go. But still the volume is
"supposedly" not as high as it should be. I am not sure if maybe
looking for a better Win driver might work but the sound is showing as
generic because it is going
Pummeling the obvious at the "try turning it on and plugging it in" level ...
I need to set the mixer levels, set the mixer S/W volume,
turn up the physical speaker volume knob and then set the volume in the player
if using something like youtube. The four are all sort of serially "ANDed".
