Connect to gmail with thunderbird over IMAP. Select all, hit the delete
key. Go get a coffee (or maybe get lunch then do some shopping, this is
going to take a while).
Also understand that this is gmail, so nothing is actually deleted. All
you are doing is removing your access to those messages
I assume (bad) that your mail is still at Google.
I suggest you use the web interface
Select all mail from the left hand column
Select "all" in the box next to the Mail button and look for the line that
is just to the right of it that asks if you want to select the total number
of emails in your "A
