There was a big Ubuntu update today and after the update my calendar
disappeared? I use Thunderbird. I would appreciate your suggestions.

For Thunderchicken, is it just the calendar tab that is missing Or was
the entire calendar functionality that is missing?
In the first case, you can go under "Events and Tasks" -> Calendar to
open the Calendar view.

A friend told me to look in T Bird/Tools/ad on/extensions/Lightening/ -

Don't know if this applies in your case but
some stuff can only be set/reset from the config editor.
