On NetBSD (1.6 anyway) the detection of gethostbyname_r is not sufficient.
It appears that configure only compiles the test code, but does not link it.
Compiling the test code without -c option gives the error below, indicating that the function is not in the libraries.
gcc -g -O2 -I/usr/pkg

So I'll better wait until 0.80 is out. If this doesn't help I'll follow OSP's
advise even though I don't really like the idea of compiling dazuko.

You can restrict the on-access scans to selected partitons or directories.

well. So I'll restrict it to the partitions to wh

Did you compile and install the dazuko source code? Doesn't that mean one has
to compile the whole kernel?

Anyone got a working clamav 0.80rc2 SRPM for Mandrake? I've worked on
it for a while and haven't been able to get it all correct, and don't
really have the time to re-engineer a wheel...

So far it only logs the name of the virus.

Can someone save me from either my own stupidity or my insanity? I have
downloaded the latest release candidate of ClamAV and then tried to extract
the archive and nothing I do is working. Here is what I have been trying:
zcat clamav-0.80rc2.tar.gz | tar xvf -
And here is the response I get:
zca
Are you sure the whole file is there? I just downloaded the same file
from sourceforge and it didnt give me any issues. I was able to
uncompress it with the command you tried as well as with a simple
tar -zxf clamav-0.80rc2.tar.gz
Maybe try a redownload and see if that doesnt help.

I've created the following setup to run clamav-milter in supervised mode on
gentoo (amd64):
# cat /etc/init.d/daemon-clamav-milter
#!/sbin/runscript
depend() {
need net clamd
before sendmail
}
start() {
ebegin "Starting clamav-milter (supervised)"
/usr/local/bin/daemon -F
/var
Well, still no love here ..
tar xvf clamav-0.80rc2.tar.gz
tar: This does not look like a tar archive
tar: Skipping to next header
tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors
So then:
file clamav-0.80rc2.tar.gz reports:
clamav-0.80rc2.tar.gz: HTML document text
I used wget to download this f
wget http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/clamav/clamav-0.80rc2.tar.gz
I also tried wget -dv
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/clamav/clamav-0.80rc2.tar.gz and got
this
output:
That is not the actual link to the file. You have to go to the link and
select a link nearest to you.
---
Well there's the issue. You're wget'ing from a mirror page. If you
follow those links, aka in browser, until you get to the essentially
"final link" that points to the actual file on sourceforge's servers,
you can then copy paste that into a terminal and wget the file.
The prdownloads is a link
OK ... That was indeed my brain cramp. Thanks for humoring ... And helping
me out ;-)
