Thanks,
Good to know that at least it does work. Your build environment is
different ( I am using gcc to compile ). Its odd though b/c I am
doing the same thing as when I built the earlier versions, same env
etc. So am trying to figure out what has changed ?

Does the command line option "--verbose" do the same thing? I changed
the command line in the cron job to that and it seem

Please keep
Started getting these with my Centos4 package freshclam today:
/etc/cron.hourly/freshclam:
/usr/bin/freshclam: unrecognized option `--log-verbose'
ERROR: Unknown option passed
ERROR: Can't parse command line options
The cron job is unchanged since installation.
Did the above option get deprecate

Morning,
I use Clamav as well but if you can't download your last signature, you should
check your configuration file /etc/clamav/freshclam.conf where you should add
at the bottom of this file your proxy settings (if you have a proxy).
For instance, you should have the 2 following lines:

Hi, this is my first time here so I'm sorry if I post my question in the

A few days ago, I noticed ClamAV failing to download its signature
update. I put this down to a network or server problem, but after
several failures I got suspicious and found something odd in the log:

Recently for testing purposes I installed successfully clamav-0.94.2 without
any problems.
All the functionality was OK. During startup scripts execution a waning
