Hello,
Many years back, I remember there being a massive FTP server that had the
motherload of default chirp images for many radios, mainly Baofeng/BTech, but
other brands as well. The images were cleanly and carefully catalogued not

Nice. Will definitely check out the latest Chirp-Next.
Does Chirp-Next have plans to allow a column to be clicked on and then the
contents of the column are automatically sorted sequentially. I.e, click on
the column of frequencies for channels and it gets sorted lowest to highest,
click it a

Hello,Having just recently picking up a second Alinco DR-235 mobile, I was hoping to be able to do programming by computer for more convenience. With my first Alinco DR-235, I had always just used it for an AllStar node, along with on occasion a couple of 1.25m/220 repeaters. Since I only used a
Hello,
Just out if curiosity, has Chirp-legacy reached s complete End of Lifecycle and
there will never be anything past chirp-legacy-20221217? I’ve migrated, for
the most part, to Chirp-Next, but still occasionally use legacy and just was
curious.
Thanks!

Looks like it just uses a standard Kenwood K2-2pin cable like every other
analog legacy Baofeng, TYT, etc HT. I mainly use the red Mirkit FTDI cable
with my analog Baofengs such as the UV-17 Pro GPS, but have many others that
work as all such as the BTech FTDI PC03, etc, along with a bunch of

work with chirp no matter what OS I used it what cable (FTDI, Prolific, CH340).
I tried every combination of MacOS, Win, Linux, Raspbian and cable. No go on
all. I concluded that the module likely just wasn’t compati
I have both installed and can run on same computers on both MacOS and Win.
macOS is simple, just rename one if the apps. I renamesd the Next one to
Chirp-Next before putting it in Applications directory. Windows was a bit more
involved, but not too difficult either. I installed legacy normal
Both work fine even running side-by-side. The nice thing is that Chirp doesn’t
seem to take control of the port the entire time chirp is running, but only
during the read/write sequence, which allows both to work fine side-by side.
The only think you can’t do, is simultaneously read (or write)
Wow, whether or not the description “Standalone application” had been there and
I just overlooked when I downloaded legacy years ago, I had assumed the zip
archive was probably just some sort of setup that was zipped up and not simply
just a zip of a fully working chirp directory.
Yep, disregar
