A bug still present in CHIRP:
If your serial port number is above COM10, chirp does not work properly.
Guess how I know? :D

FRS requires all channels to be NFM. GMRS includes the available

Hi Rich,
I am glad the driver link helped. This video helped me to know what frequencies
I needed, and how to add them.

Rich,
1. What frequencies should I load into memory slots?
That will depend on your area of interest. Your radio is FM only so this
is likely to include local FM repeaters, any frequencies used by your
local club for its activities (e.g. "nets") and any that are of specific
interest that yo
Rich,
Inside CHIRP you can access under the Menu, the RADIO menu, and under it,
"Query Data Sources" and then "Repeater Book."
If you are in Europe - I believe you might have said your in the UK, you
can use the Data Source prezmieniki.net which lists many EU
countries including UK.

Glad you got it working by plugging into a port at the back but I wonder
whether this is one of those weird USB3 port compatibility issues?
Is the port at the side blue, vs black at the back?

The front top has 4 usb ports, 2 that are 3.0 and 2 that are 2.0. I am not

I have had this happen before. I have a Yeti Blue microphone and it doesn't
want to work with any port in the top front. But works great in the back.

I apologize, I tried a different USB port and it worked. I was using the
ones on top of my computer instead of the ones in the back for convenience.
Thank you for your help. Have a great evening.

Hello,
I am sorry to bother everyone again but I am uncertain how to proceed. I
downloaded and installed the latest drivers for my cable, Windows 10 is
recognizing it. But now I get an "error reading data. Not the amount of
data we want." I have looked for trouble shooting but all I can find is th

You cannot hurt the radio by attempting to download. If it succeeds, you
are on your way. The worst that can happen is that CHIRP will report an
error message.

When I attempt to download from radio, I get this is an experimental driver
do you wish to proceed ?
I have confirmed that the radio is on the list supported by CHIRP, my phone
is authentic as is my cable.
I am new to ham radio and not sure if I should proceed.
