Hello ceph users,
I am in the unfortunate situation of having a status of “1 mds daemon damaged”.
Looking at the logs, I see that the daemon died with an assert as follows:
./src/osdc/Journaler.cc: 1368: FAILED ceph_assert(trim_to > trimming_pos)
ceph version 18.2.2 (e9fe820e7fffd1b7cde143a9f
Hi,
thanks to the advices received ( thank you Joachim, Anthony) i managed to solve
this ... layer-8 problem.
Not a ceph problem; I'm not proud, but if it can help within archives..
My ceph is fully routed and i had a typo on the routing table; therefore many
hosts couldn't connect each other.

Hi,
I want to search for objects using the rados_object_list function. How do I set
the filter? I always get error -22.
What is the syntax for the filter value.

Hi Reid,
You could try resharding this source bucket to 11 shards (new default since
Octopus) and run the --fix command again to see how it goes.
To stay on the safe side, you might want to plan a maintenance window and
proceed as follow:
1/ rclone sync again source bucket to destination bu

Hi Curt,
Damn!
I think I've just worked it out - but I can't check it until tomorrow.
I think I haven't opened up 8443 in the firewall.
As I said, I'll check tomorrow and report back
Thanks for being a "sounding-board".

For S3 v4 auth, there are things that "obfuscates" the login auth, but
might not be called real crypto in that sense, so if you decide to
send things in the clear, expect it to be
Hello,
Do you have any kind of firewall rules that could be blocking it? If you
do a netstat on your current acting manager, it shows listening? Do you
have firewalld running? I don't mean this as an insult, but you are putting
https://cephmgr:8443? I've seen browsers not add the s if it's not 4
Feels like you answered your own question here - why not just use HTTPS for
your multisite sync?
I'm not aware of any other encryption mechanisms for metadata (I guess using
SSE encryption for your data may save that going over in plain text) and would
assume that just using HTTP would indeed b
Hi Phil,
is the ceph public and cluster network set in your ceph config dump or is
there another ceph.conf on the local servers?
