I've sent you an email off list about the Alpha 800; feel free to get in

Hi,
I have used it yes, and I'm actually quite happy with it - it wasn't
that hard for me to get the PCBs; I just uploaded them to one of the
PCB prototyping services out there (forgot which one, it has been a
while already, and brain cells get rust
Hi Devin,
I myself have several hobbyist machines, and I know a few other people who
do.
The 70 day timebomb is set by the OS and the different software packages
you install. So, let's say, you install the OS, the development tools and
Client Access. Each of them will have their own 70 day time b
Also, DD won't work on those disks; you'll have to use sg_utils and use raw
SCSI commands to dump the disks. Linux DD uses the system calls to read
block devices, and interestingly enough, they only support multiples of

Dumping those disks isn't impossible, but you ne
On a misc side note, you might be able to change it with a set of

Your mileage may vary though.

Hi Peter,
Is there any particular reason why you need a model 150?
Depending on your needs, you might be better off with eg a -170; a -170
will support the same software stack and will be significantly faster.
Are you stuck with relying on Advanced/36 or similar?

At the risk of sounding like a nitpicker, I think that mainly depends on if

Let me know if you've got some left and are willing to ship internationally.

I have quite some experience with this:
- I managed to reconstruct the long-lost BookManager Server product for
Linux, allowing you to render them as a CGI-bin. Sadly, this got a DMCA
takedown, however, the work is trivial to reproduce - you have to download
the individual software updates and puzz
You will need the keyboard. Those terminals usually don't come up without
it. Good news tho if the keyboard has been nicked, the protocol is
compatible-ish with PS/2. I have successfully used $generic_ps2_keyboard
with the right plug for it. Make sure to not hit the Windows key (or any

I am quite interested in one of them, but I’m located at the other side of
the planet.
Would PakMail work for that as well?

So, I have built a USB adapter for my 5150’s keyboard. The experience is
actually quite bad, as stated earlier. The main reason why I still use it
is because I took it with me from Belgium - it’s a French keyboard, and
having access to all the special characters makes typing in eg. French,
