FYI: I spent some time evaluating the iZ3D today as well. Like the others,
this LCD-based solution is dependent on DirectX/3D drivers. But even if it
weren't, there is far too much cross-talk between the two stereo images for it
to be usable with PyMOL, Coot, etc.
While the iZ3D's stereo ghos

Hi
Has anyone tried using video glasses such as MyVu as stereo glasses?
www.myvu.com
Seems like it could be a cheap (~$100/set) alternative to montitors +
other hardware. Resolution maybe an issue.
Just a thought,
Mark

At Weizmann, we've been using a high-performance DLP projector
together with a
Power Mac G5 Quad, with NVIDIA Quadro FX 4500 graphics card
for stereo molecular graphics on a large screen.
It described at:

BTW, has anyone tried using stereo with a DLP (not LCD) video projector?
(Don't know what the refresh rate restrictions are on these. The
physical hardware should be capable, but there's no guarantee the the
electronics will support it. Probably requires a darkened room too).

There we have it then! Port everything to DirectX and use Vista ! ;)
*shudder*
Not to slam M$, but I run vista x64 at home and the hardware support
is awful (manufacturers have yet to distinguish between driver support
for 32 bit or 64 bit i.e. Vista capable on the box may mean only 32
bit
Stereo 3D Users:
I tested out the Samsung Syncmaster 2233RZ / NVIDIA 3D Vision bundle
today ($599 for a 120 Hz LCD display with one pair of glasses).
Unfortunately, the 2233RZ display is clearly not yet a drop-in
replacement for your stereo-3D-capable CRT: The display is very nice,
and the stere
