Hi,
In my experience, it is very very very difficult to optimize this needle like
crystal. Always give up.
Good luck!
Dear All;
Could somebody give a nice suggestion how the following type crystal could
be optimized, I almost tried everything.
Crystal Image is attached
Crystal condition: 20%
Hi,
For me it is detergent crystals or other stuff that is not quite important in
this case. As you showed the resolution is quite low. I suggest you need to
repeat again again again. You may go to PEG200. In our case, it is very
difficult to reproduce membrane protein crystals.
Good luck!
Hi,
I used 0.017% or 0.012%. My protein is very stable at this concentration.
Good luck.

Hi All,
Has anyone had any luck purifying membrane proteins with DDM
(n-dodecyl-D-maltoside) using concentration of detergent ~1-2 x CMC ? (Its CMC
is very low: 0.009
Additives screening.

Hi, thank you for you reply. Could you tell me if you try to dye membrane
protein crystal with detergent?
Thanks.

I like using
t the concentration of detergent?
And how to dilute detergent?
Thanks all.

Hi,
A little danger this condition. I suggest you should firstly make sure they are
protein crystals. I know it is very difficult. I suggest you can add proteases
to the drops. If "crystals" dissolve, no problem, they are protein crystals.

Hi, Did you use detergent? It seems look like detergent crystals.

In fact, you can put plates in refrigerator. It is cheap and simple. Maybe the
temperature is not stable, but don't warry, acturaly, the dynamic temperature
is benifit to grow crystals. You can look for relational papers.
Of course, you can buy a incubator, which can control temperature from 4-6
