Folks
Calling for articles and short communications of interest to structural
biologists. The deadline for submission in the June 2013 issue is 31 May,
2013 but if you can send me drafts before the 15th of May we can get
started on generating proofs.

A *post-doctoral position* is available to study the molecular mechanism
for self vs. non-self discrimination by the innate immune system. We use a
combination of X-ray crystallography, biochemistry and cell biology to
characterize structures and functions of key host molecules that rec
Dear ccp4 users,
I have a reflections file obtained from a crystal initially scaled
in H3. All the attempts to phase by Molecular Replacement were not
successful and I succeeded only in P1. Based on previously solved
structures from the same protein, I suspected that twinning affected

Dear Colleagues,
The 4th International School on Biological Crystallization (ISBC2013) is
already full and new registers will be on a waiting list. We would like to
thank everybody for their interest and wish we can all make it a very
successful School.

Most participants in the CSHL X-rays Methods in Structural Biology course have
seen the powerpoint presentation of Alex McPherson's trip to Mars in 2001.
Here are a couple of slides from the presentation:

Hi Ethan,
The crystallographer is the next generation crystallographer: a robot. If there
was a job interview (which I doubt) I guess he was asked about its power
consumption, generated heat etc.
Cheers,
