show several ways to set it up, but I always put my feed point up in the
air. I don't really like the idea of having the feed point on the

I have the portable version. It works great. I think you will be fine with
the base version. Some operators use it to check into traffic nets in the
morning. You will need a tuner to get the bands you want. Otherwise a good
antenna.
