I have the portable version as well and its built really well. Its good if you want a decent performing multi-band antenna. The instructions show several ways to set it up, but I always put my feed point up in the air. I don't really like the idea of having the feed point on the ground. It doesn't perform quite as well as inverted V antennas at 34 feet, but it will get the job done. I do recommend putting a 1:1 current balun right at the SO-239. At least in my case I was able to tune it better than without... The wire is copper clad kevlar.

All,

My Vertical did not make it through the summer! I have limited space, but I think this kit might work for me. Does anyone have any experience with this antenna? My Vertical was a great antenna when I was in Oregon, but all the Plastic insulators have broken down in Houston.
