The previous Hudson installation allowed read-only access to the
workspace without needing a login, however that does not seem to be
possible any more.
Is that intentional?

I noticed that the Hudson HttpComponents build messages needed to be
moderated, so I did reply-all to allow them through.
Perhaps the same is happening for other lists.
