I don't think that \setTextDecrescOn make sense, because that's not an on/off
setting, but one of many settings. In particular, for decrescendi we have

Once this issue is addressed, it will make more sense to rename these
commands in
\xxxOn \xxxOff, for better consistency with the newly renamed commands
