There was indeed a bug in the configure script making the choice it
advertised it wanted to make. I fixed that so it sets it as the comments
with the original libc change say it should be set. However, that setting
does not seem to work as it's supposed to. The same problem happens on
Linux if
Recently Jeff Bailey reported that he needed to set
libc_cv_gcc_unwind_find_fde to yes in order to get glibc with libio
to compile with with gcc3 on GNU/Hurd.
