As Jeroen pointed out, you seem to be running this as root, can you
test it as a normal user?
Sure, and I couldn't reproduce the error that was in the Savannah bug
tracker. So could someone who is having problems with
fakeauth/fakeroot report a decent test case?

I am trying to install gnu/hurd k8 mini-iso on my
laptop (ibm t41 - Intel M 1.4 GHz, 512 MB, 40 GB HDD).
I have a 5 GB partition on /dev/hda4. After booting
from the iso, i did the following:
1/ select keyboard layout
2/ activate swap
4/ initialize gnu/hurd partition
6/ install base system

Actually, I am typing everything in one line in the
grub prompt.
Why don't you use menu.lst? It will save you a bit of useless
typing... See the grub manual for details.
