Did you make sure that there are no changes to the rtl8139 driver
where lost?
No. Nor do I plan on checking that, I doubt that Becker removed old
drivers if they worked. Also, as I said, this is the latest driver
for any rtl8139 card, so this is what is in Linux too.

Hey, that's so trivial I implemented it last weekend and forgot I'd done
so! :-)
Naturally, this patch is wholly untested. It does compile, though. I
would appreciate some testing. (Remember, this is just about Unixish
access to the existing author and translator data, not any new kind of
attr
