This really doesn't help binary-based distributions, since the command available on my system when I build a package may not be available on your system when you run it. I suggest you default to the safest option, and trust the package maintainers to patch the desktop file appropriately. -- kdes

su-to-root tries many different ways to get root, and respects local administrator's wishes. It can leverage sudo instead of plain su. Using it minimises dependency bloat for BiT (why depend on kdesudo when the administrator wants sux?) and mean that the two front ends are interchangable. The only
