The kiskadee was first seen and heard at 8:00 this morning. It was then seen
and hear very well at 8:25 for 10 minutes before it went east into the woods.
Best viewed from the curve on Water Street at the 5th cottage from the entrance
of the Marsh Trail. Twelve happy visitors today so far.

It is just before the last cottage in the pond along side the bay.
Take exit 101 off the 401 and follow signs to the park.

Today I observed a single Glaucous Gull at the Strong Landfill.

The Strong landfill is located on forest lake Rd. about 3 klm north of the
village of Sundridge

The Hudsonisn Godwit is still visible at Brock Street in Whitby. From the
401 go south through one traffic light and then you'll see a bridge with
concrete barriers. The bird is on the right hand side (the west side)
forging on the mud. There was also Dunlin, Pectoral Sandpiper Semipalmated

The was seen at 3.10 at the beginning of the Marsh Trail. From the parking
lot walk straight to the bay and look right.
It is feeding on the weed mat and flying back to the root balls on the
shore.

Today at about 1:45 pm I found a Le Conte’s Sparrow at Columbia Lake, Waterloo.
It was skulking through a goldenrod field north of the weather station,
occasionally popping up on a bush. I was able to follow it around the field for
about half an hour, only to have it disappear into some phragmit
There have been some good birds moving through the Haliburton area lately.
This morning around 10:00am, I found a mixed flock of shorebirds on mudflats on
the east side of Horseshoe Lake. The flock contained 4 Pectoral Sandpipers,
8 Dunlin, 6 Greater Yellowlegs, and a single White-rumped San
Cranberry Marsh

My friend Giovanni Campanelli told me that he had seen a tyrannus flycatcher
sp. in Barry's Bay that was determined to be a Scissor-tailed Flycatcher. It
was seen this evening at Bay Street and Lakeshore Drive, behind St. Hedwigs
church. Good luck to anyone who goes.

Roxane Filion and I spent some time looking for the Harris’ Sparrow that was
reported in Smooth Rock Falls earlier this week. We checked several feeders
along Ross Rd in the early afternoon and again a few hours later. There were
many White Crowned Sparrows, a few Fox Sparrows and White-t
