I had an install of 5.6 that worked fine. I wanted to upgrade to
5.8. make and install went fine. However, my default "dbm" type has
changed. Sorry for the ignorance, but, the way I can tell is that the
previous extension on my dbm were ".db". Now, dbm uses the ".pag" and

just do
$dbm_file="file.db";
tile %dbm, $dbm_file.
you don't need to worry about about the extension, well at least I was luck
and did need to change anything. I just kept file.db and it works just fine
