Hi,
Sorry if this is something obvious; compilation isn't my forte :
I am trying to compile Bacula 2.2.4 on Solaris 9 with MySQL 5.0.41. I
am not able to get "configure" to come back with Batch insert enabled.
Browsing through the configure file, I wonder if either a) I'm missing

Has anybody successfully compiled Bacula 2.2.4 on Solaris? I have been
running 2.0.3 on Solaris 9 for a while, didn't have any particular
trouble compiling it with gcc 3.4.6. But I can't compile Bacula 2.2.4,
keep getting errors such as :
ld: fatal: Symbol referencing errors. No output written t
f the configure statement above). So I think my
next attempt will be to compile MySQL myself.
thanks, Phil

piles OK
with --enable-batch-insert. So I guess, for me at least, a thread-safe
version of MySQL is required regardless of whether this option is used.
thanks, Phil

I'm having problems with mtx: once it loads a tape into a drive, "mtx

(using mtx via mtx-changer) :
$ mtx-changer /dev/changer load 388 /dev/rmt/0cbn 16

Hi,
Does anyone know if it is possible to get hold of old versions of Bacula
source (or Solaris packages?). I am struggling to get a File Daemon
compiled for Solaris 2.6. It might be lack of intelligence on my part,
but it occurs to me that I might have more luck with old source.
(And for those
Hi all,
Bacula 2.2.4. Solaris 9 Director & Storage Daemons. Mix of Solaris and
Windows clients.
I am gradually moving some backups onto Bacula (from another backup
system) & have noticed that Spooling of backups does not appear to be
working as I expected. I have a few 100 Gb set up for spooli
Smaller jobs might help, but I would like to keep the simplicity of just
being able to throw a new client at Bacula and know that it is getting
backed up, without having to delve too deep (initially) into what
filesystems are on that client.
Thanks all for the feedback.

Is there a way of configuring Bacula to alert for tape errors like
these? I see they are being incorporated in the success/fail email for
a job but would like to email them separately so as to highlight them.
Obviously I could write a script to parse the log file but don't

I've fairly recently implemented Bacula on Solaris 9 servers - Director,
2 Storage Daemons, 2 tape libraries, MySQL. I also have a similar test
environment which I can get up and running fairly quickly.
Should I be running the regression tests either for my own upgrade
testing or for the benefit
