Hello List,
i just got shocked with a question about Vista support.
So far, i did not saw anyone mention Vista on this list.
Do someone got first experience with Vista?
Does it run well as with Windows XP?
Any help are welcome.
Best regards and happy easter.

A error like this happen normally if the directory can not resolve the name
of the client.
Make sure you have a valid route to the client.
Do you use subnetting?
Can you ping the client from the director computer?

Uhm, sorry, just read this thread.
We have made something like this for our company,
I am sure we did not match all the requirements.
But we use a XML file and then generate the config file.
The program is writen in php.
I will try to make it available in the next few days.

Does it mean the remote FD can not resolve the name of the director?
The local backup works fine.

Sometimes you run in the wrong direction and don't see the easy solution.

First of all, let me wish you all a happy new year.
We are using Bacula in the version 1.39.11.
Yesterday we had to do a restore.
Everything works fine and all backuped data could be restored.
But during the restore, bacula had a strange behavior.
We do the backup to a file.

Andrew,
did you check the retention and usage time for the tape?
If you set them to the wrong time, you have to wait untill the retention
time is over before bacula use the tape again.

Well, i did update the volumes several times, set the current to used and
then bacula used a new one. But after 24 hours still use the same.
Don't tell me i have to make it once for all "tapes".

Hello all,
i need to update a exchange server, which is not the problem.
But i have to backup the server in a way that i can restore single mail
accounts, or, what will be better, restore a single mail.
In commmercial products you can get a plugin to backup and restore so called
bricks in Exchan
files that use special characters in the file (like thai
and japanese).
Unfortunately, i have to restore a file and always run in the zlib error.
Anyone has a idea what i can do or try to get the file back?
Anyone has experience with special character files?
BR
